Important Announcement

Dear valued members and visitors,

It is with a mix of emotions that we announce the closure of Cupertino Judo Club, effective January 2024. Founded in 1964-2007 by Jim Baker, this club has been a beacon in the judo community for nearly six decades. Under Mr. Baker’s leadership, the club grew and prospered, leaving an indelible mark on the judo community. After years of dedicated service to the judo community, our esteemed head instructor, Rose, took over the club in 2007 and has been leading it passionately until today. As Rose prepares for a well-deserved retirement, we honor and appreciate her lasting contributions to the club and the martial arts community at large.

Rose has been the heart and soul of this club, imparting her knowledge, passion, and expertise to countless judokas. Her legacy will forever be etched in the memories of all those she has taught and inspired.

In the spirit of continuation and growth, we are pleased to share that club practices will be seamlessly transitioned to Silicon Valley Judo Club. Sensei Stu and David (Rose’s son) will be leading weekly practices, ensuring the same dedication that the Cupertino Judo Club has stood for.

In the past 40 years, the Cupertino Judo Club has generated many champions in competitions at the state, national, and international level. We want to express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for being a part of this remarkable journey. Your loyalty and support have made this club a cherished community for judo practitioners to thrive and learn.

As we approach the closure date, we encourage you to embrace this transition and continue your judo journey at Silicon Valley Judo Club. Cherish the memories, honor Rose’s legacy, and uphold the principles of judo in your future endeavors.

For any inquiries or concerns regarding the transition or the upcoming closure, please feel free to reach out to Rose.

Thank you for being a part of the Cupertino Judo Club family.
